For educational purposes, the Test Bed simulates the behavior of the 'events' that characterize a fiber optic network. The signal attenuations due to the various passive components and the attenuations due to degradation or interruption of the network.
\nThat is, it allows us to simulate in the laboratory what happens when a section of the passive network is subjected to verification using OTDR instrumentation, both when the network is in optimal operating conditions and when conditions of malfunction or interruption of service occur.
\nThe educational use of the Test Bed allows you to:
\n- learn to recognize the behavior of the different passive components subjected to OTDR measurement: splitters, fusion splice, connectors, fiber sections of various lengths, etc
