The Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) is a cable made up of filaments of polymeric materials, made in such a way as to be able to conduct the light inside them.

The Plastic Optical Fiber  consists of a nucleus, called core, of Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) covered by a thin mantle, or cladding, of fluorinated polymer.

Cables can be of different types: Single-fibre (Simplex), Bi-fibre (Duplex) or Multi-fibre, protected by a single or double one.

Robust and easy to install, typically in industrial environments for short distances.
